Why can I not buy any more licenses? Getting error E6118 for paid calling plans and even free resource accounts.

I am in the process of setting up my entire organization on Teams phone and was adding licenses and calling plans as needed. Yesterday I started to get an error E6118 "there was in issue submitting your request. Try again or contact support for assistance" I am freaking out as I have all my numbers scheduled to port over next Friday and do not currently have enough licenses to support the whole company. I have tried different browsers, devices, tweaking billing address, adding a new CC on file. Adding company registration number. Everything I have seen online that may make a difference and still cannot purchase licenses for about the last 18 hours. I am unable to purchase calling plans, and even unable to add "free" licenses such as additional resource accounts

I have been waiting for only 1 day for MSFT to resolve this for me. Seeing these comments prompted me to look for workarounds. Happy to report that I found one that allowed us to purchase additional licenses and keep the business moving. Here is what I did after receiving the same error message as OP, when trying to "Buy Licenses" on an existing 365 Business Premium product:

    • Go to Add more products in the your products view
    • Select the same product you are trying to buy additional licenses to
    • Select the plan, select license quantity, subscription length and, billing frequency (all of which are the same as your original line item)
    • Select Buy again (instead of manage)
    • Change the renewal date to match your existing product for the same license
    • Place order

This works. The only downside I can see now is that I have a duplicate listing of the 365 Premium product; the first with the existing quantity which I wasn't able to increase through the traditional "Buy licenses" option and the second being the new purchase for additional licenses (of the same product).

Hope this helps and makes sense.

I have run into the same issue. Waiting for support to fix it.

The trick to buy a new license does not work anymore. 'Buy new' is not available, only 'Manage'.

I am getting the same error. Have been in contact with Microsoft Support for the last 3 days but they were even not able to fix this thing on their end. I dont know what can be a possible issue but the team have been just writing me that we are working on this for 3 weeks. This is really bad situation now for me

Hey Kenneth - did you get this resolved in the end? I've had the exact same issue over the last two days, I've got a ticket open with Microsoft, but they haven't yet comeback with a fix or resolution. I need to order some licences ASAP.

Just wondered if you had this resolved and if you know what caused the issue?

    Cheers,

    James
