Office telemetry temp files are not cleaning

We are using

Windows OS --> MS Windows 2022 Base

Office --> MS Office 2021

and disabled windows telemetry (HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Policies\Microsoft\Windows\DataCollection\AllowTelemetry to 0)

Also disable application telemetry in the group policy (Turn off application telemetry)

but we do still see files accumulated under C:\Users\xxxxxx\AppData\Local\Temp\Diagnostics\WINWORD

Eventually system is running out of disk space.

    I still see the issue.

    I will post a query as you recommended the other channel

    I confirm that the regedit suggestion:

    [HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Office\Common\ClientTelemetry]
    "DisableTelemetry"=dword:00027100

    ... does not work.

    I've also tried creating the same DWORD value under a more specific version of Office (16, which is for Office 2021) i.e. under "HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Office\16\Common\ClientTelemetry", but still didn't fix the issue.

    Dear Paila,

    Thanks for your updates and confirmation.

    I search some articles and find a reply from Disable Office Telemetry Data Collection? | Microsoft Learn for your reference. I suggest you try it to see whether it can fix the issue in your environment.

    Use the registry key as follows.

    [HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Office\Common\ClientTelemetry]
    "DisableTelemetry"=dword:00027100

    If the issue persists after trying the way above, please don't worry, we have a specific support channel Office Management - Microsoft Q&A coping with Office 2021 applications' related issues and questions. I suggest you post a new thread there to see whether there is an solution the members there can provide for you to get the issue fixed in your environment.

    As Office Telemetry Dashboard is no longer supported in Microsoft 365 Apps for enterprise (as of Version 2208), and is removed in Version 2301 (and later) and our category mainly focuses on Microsoft 365 applications' related issues and questions, we may have no enough resources on the Office 2021 applications' settings at our side.

    Thanks for your effort and time.

    Sincerely

    Thanks for the reply.

    This setting was not set initially, I updated with the registry setting and restarted system. But still it generates telemetry files under diagnostics directory.

    Dear Paila,

    Thanks for your updates and kindness.

    In the normal process, Word is supposed to delete all of its temporary files when you exit Word.

    There may be some logics about how the temporary files are created which may not be controlled by the group policy on your computer.

    For your reference: Description of how Word creates temporary files - Microsoft Support

    The article above may also be applied to the latest version of the Word application.

    In those scenarios, you may manually remove the unnecessary temporary files at your side.

    Typically they are left if Word hangs, you exit the program abnormally or you left a large number of items in the Clipboard when you close Word.

    It is better for you click on Options>Save>check Delete files from the Office Document Cache when they are closed under Cache Settings as well.

    Thanks for your understanding and effort.

    Sincerely

    Dear Paila,

    Please check whether you have disabled the logging at HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Office\16.0\Common\General>create a new DWORD value named "DisableLogging" and set its value to 1.

    If no, I suggest you try it, remove some unnecessary logging files manually, free up the disc space and restart the computer to see if the issue goes away at your side.
