Email Alerts from SharePoint

Previously when we received emails from SharePoint when signing up for alerts, the "from" would be the site name. Recently the "from" is being sent from SharePoint Online. Is there a change that was implemented recently or something we can do to get the notification to send using the site name? We are GCC.

    Dear SCC_Nettie,

    Good day!

This may be because this change was applied at a different time for each tenant, and I'm sorry I don't have permission to investigate this service further from the background.

In this situation, I am sorry and recommend you to connect with the related development team where they can check the internal sources and investigate the issue further.

So, I request you to connect with your IT admin of your organization (How do I find my Microsoft 365 admin? - Microsoft Support) and ask them to raise a new service request from the Microsoft 365 admin center so that the related development team will connect with you and investigate the issue further.

Reference: Get support - Microsoft 365 admin | Microsoft Learn

Note: I apologize for redirecting you to related development support team because the moderators in this community are limited with the resource for further investigation and to get a quick resolution to your problem, I requested it.

    Thanks for your cooperation.

    Sincerely,

    Tin | Microsoft Community Moderator

Thank you. Reading the support documentation you provided it looks like this is something that started happening in 2016. We just noticed this in our tenant between October and November of this year. Was there some release that was just applied for us to see this? Anything I could look for in the message center?

    Dear SCC_Nettie,

Good day! Thank you for posting to Microsoft Community. I am happy to help you

I did my research and indeed Microsoft's official documentation states this, and the email for notifications and alerts has now been changed to sharepointonline.com.

This is mainly to avoid the possibility that such messages will be classified as spam:

Information about changes to the address that is used to send notification email messages from SharePoint - Microsoft Support

The current official documentation lists this in the instructions for creating workflows:

Create an alert to get notified when a file or folder changes in SharePoint - Microsoft Support

I haven't seen a way for SharePoint to change this email address. I apologize for any inconvenience caused to you. Since the alert emails are created through Power Automate, I recommend that you post on this forum to see if there is a way to change the email address:Forums | Microsoft Power Platform Community

The reason I ask you to post a new thread is that in Answers forum, we have limited resources and very little knowledge about Power Automate and in Microsoft Power Platform Community Forum Thread, you will get the most qualified pool of respondents, and other partners who read the forums regularly can either share their knowledge or learn from your interaction.

    Thanks for your cooperation.

    Sincerely,

    Tin | Microsoft Community Moderator
