Does the preview at File > Print display the borders correctly?

Also, did you double-check the settings for page borders? On the Home tab, click the arrow on the border button (in the Paragraph group) and then choose Borders and Shading. Go to The Page Border tab and click Options. Which settings have been specified in the Options dialog?

    Hello Animesh Das,

    Welcome to Microsoft Q&A.

I realize that you've encountered a problem with MS Word page border printing unevenly on A4 paper, and I understand how you feel.

The issue is likely caused by a printer driver or Word’s default print settings not aligning page borders correctly with A4 paper on your new PC.

In Word, go to Design > Page Borders > Options > Under “Measure from”, choose Text instead of “Edge of Page” > Set Top/Bottom/Left/Right margins equally (e.g., 1 inch or 2.54 cm).

Or go to Layout > Margins > Custom Margins and ensure they match for all sides > Make sure Apply to is set to Whole Document.

Sometimes the default PCL driver causes border misalignment. Installing the PostScript (PS) driver fixes this:

    1. Press Windows + R > type control printers > Enter.
    2. Right-click your printer > Remove device.
    3. Go to your printer manufacturer’s website. Download the PostScript (PS) driver for your printer model (not the default or PCL driver).
    4. Install the PS driver and set it as default.
    5. Restart your PC and test printing the Word document again.

Please let us know if these steps help.

    Best Regards,
