How can the Meeting Insights feature be disabled in Outlook Web? Various methods have been tried based on online suggestions, but none have been effective. This feature is attaching irrelevant emails and files to calendar invitations, which is quite frustrating. Any tips or advice would be appreciated.

    Hi @Reva,

Thank you for reaching out to the Microsoft Q&A forum. We’re happy to assist you.

Since each organization can have its own Outlook settings and policies, solutions that work for others may not necessarily apply to your environment.

To better understand your situation and assist you appropriately, we’d appreciate your input on the following points:

    • How is the Meeting Insights feature currently being managed in your setup?
    • Could you share any solutions you’ve attempted so far? That’ll help us better understand what’s been done.
    • Are you the administrator for your organization’s Microsoft 365 environment?

In the meantime, you can try these workarounds to fix it:

    1. If you or your IT team has access to the Microsoft 365 Admin Center, you can disable Meeting Insights organization-wide:
    • Go to Settings > Search & Intelligence.
    • Under Configurations, find Meeting Insights settings.
    • Click Change > uncheck Allow Meeting Insights in your organization.
    • Click Save.

This is currently the most effective method to disable the feature across users.

    1. Disable Meeting Insights from Classic Outlook for Window ("Win32"):
    • Go to File > Options > Calendar > Uncheck Show Meeting Insights > OK.

    1. Meeting Insights is part of Microsoft Viva, and disabling it may require turning off the Viva Insights add-in:
    • Go to Settings > Calendar > Customize actions. Uncheck or disable Viva Insights if available

This feature may be controlled at the tenant level by your organization's IT admin. If you're unable to find the toggle or disable the feature, it's likely due to design-level integration with Microsoft Viva, which currently does not allow full user-side control.

Please contact your IT administrator to explore whether Viva Insights can be disabled or customized at the tenant level.

You can consider submitting feedback to Microsoft via UserVoice or the Outlook Web feedback tool.

    • Go to Help > Feedback > Make a suggestion.

I know this isn't the answer you were hoping for, and I want you to know that I wish I had a way to change it for you directly. As a moderator of Q&A forum, my ability to assist is with the existing product functionality, and the power to influence its design rests entirely with our product development team.

Sharing your experience through this channel is the most impactful way to advocate for a change that would benefit you and other users.
