How do I update my audio driver?

I have a brand new HP Windows 11 computer, and it says I need to update the audio driver. How do I do this?

    Thank you for reaching out to Microsoft Q&A and congrats on the new computer. I'm gladly to help you with this problem, here's how to update your audio driver:

    1. Use Windows update:

    • Open Windows System settings (Windows + I) > Click Windows update > Check for updates
    • Select driver: A window will pop up > Look for sound, video and game controllers (Audio) > Check the box next to audio driver > Download and install

    2. Update via Device Manager:

    • Open Device Manager (Windows + X) > Sound, video and game controllers > Right-click your audio driver > Update driver > Choose search automatically for drivers

    3. Download update via website:

    Since you mentioned that you've got a new HP computer, please visit HP website and look for audio driver and install from the website.

    Visit HP's Software and Drivers site:

    https://support.hp.com/us-en/drivers

    Enter your laptop/PC model

    Download and install the latest audio driver.

    Reboot.
