Create a planner task is missing from the more actions tab in teams chat

I want to turn some of the teams chats into planner tasks but when you go to the More actions tab the create task doesnt show up in either the web or the app version of Teams. and Im on the lastest verion of teams.

Thank you for posting your question in the Microsoft Q&A forum. I understand you're unable to find the "Create task" option in the "More actions" menu for a Teams chat message. I'd be happy to help you with this.

This feature is directly linked to the Tasks by Planner and To Do app. If the option is missing, it's almost always because the app isn't installed or enabled for your account.

Please work through the following solutions in order:

Go to the left tab of teams and click on the 3 dots search workflows. 
Go to workflows, select create, find "create a planner task from a message", select that section -> Choose Next.

Set up your flow -> Create flow.
When you setup successfully you will receive the message "Your flow is ready to be run!"
After successfully creating, you will have the "Create a Planner task from a message" section where you can create a planner for each member.

Whyever today the function was gone in my Teams. I think I have used a Microsoft standard function to do this.

When I follow the instructions, I have to select one dedicated Plan where the ToDo Task is stored. In the past I was able to select the Group and the Plan in the Popup Window. In the past I was also able to use my private ToDo List as target for the task.

For me, the solution described above is also not really feasible, since we as end users cannot access the Workflow app. Additionally, in our tenant, the "Create Planner Task" option used to be offered as a default in the "More" menu, and I would like to understand why this option no longer exists.

This used to be an out-of-the-box feature? Is creating a flow the only option now?

Can you please advise when the option will be back in the desktop app? Its showing up in teams online.

Today the option was back in Standard in my Desktop Teams.

But some of my colleagues still do not have this function in standard (out of the box) available. Someone told me also, that the function is maybe available in Teams Online. So you can check, whether it works for you in Teams online.

Yes I can see it available in Teams Online but still not showing up in the Desktop App.
