    Hello @Edward Bartholomew

    Welcome to Q&A forum!

To Remove a Member from a Team (Requires Owner Permissions)

Only a Team Owner can remove members. If you are an owner, please follow these steps:

    1. Go to the team name and click the More options (...) button.
    2. Select Manage team
    3. Click on the Members tab to see the list of everyone in the team.
    4. Find the person you want to remove and click the X on the far right of their name. The member will be removed immediately.

If the person is also listed as a Team Owner, you will need to change their role to Member before removing them.

To Remove a Member from a Group Chat

Any participant in a group chat can remove another member.

    1. Open the group chat you want to edit.
    2. Click the View and add participants icon in the top-right corner of the screen.
    3. A list of all participants will appear.
    4. Find the name of the person you wish to remove and click the X next to their name

Please note that removed users will no longer have access to the team or chat, but their previous messages will remain visible to other members.

If the user has already been removed from your organization but still appears in Teams or other Microsoft 365 services, your Microsoft 365 admin may need to clean up their account from the backend. You can refer to Microsoft’s official guide here: Remove a former employee - Overview - Microsoft 365 admin | Microsoft Learn

I hope this clarifies things for you. Let us know if you need help with any of these steps or if the user still appears after removal.
