Trouble Summoning Visuals: Copilot Image Generation Not Matching Creative Intent (Windows App)

I’m using Microsoft Copilot via the Windows application to generate custom Champion images for a fantasy RPG universe. My visual standards are highly specific—Blueprint Fantasy Illustration and Mythic Sketch Realism—with detailed prompts that include gear layouts, emotional tone, and silhouette logic.

The issue is that image generation results are inconsistent and often fail to reflect the visual clarity, gear logic, or emotional tone I’ve specified. For example:

• Prompts requesting full-body Champion illustrations with specific gear slots often return cropped or incomplete figures.

• Requests for expressive detail (e.g., sorrowful eyes, mythic posture) are frequently ignored or misinterpreted.

• Visual style references like “Blueprint Fantasy Illustration” or “Mythic Sketch Realism” are not consistently honored, even when repeated across sessions.

Additionally, I’ve noticed a strange behavior during image generation:

While the image is being produced, it appears absolutely perfect—matching my prompt in every detail. But once the generation finishes, the final image changes noticeably, losing key elements such as composition, gear placement, or emotional tone. This shift disrupts the creative process and makes it difficult to iterate with precision.

I’m not using Copilot Pro or Microsoft 365 Copilot—just the standard Windows Copilot app. I’ve also noticed that corrections made in one session aren’t remembered in the next, which makes iterative refinement difficult.

I’d like to know:

• Whether the Windows Copilot app supports persistent memory for visual prompts

• If there are known limitations to image generation in this environment

• Whether upgrading to Copilot Pro would improve consistency or style fidelity

Any help reproducing this issue or confirming the current capabilities would be appreciated.

    Hello @Kenny Versfeld

Thank you for reaching out to Microsoft Q&A and informed us about the issue with Copilot. I understand that you're currently unsatisfied with the feature that Copilot provide but I'm here to answer your question:

    1. Does Copilot app support memory for visual prompt?

    • Per the latest update, the memory feature in Copilot start rolling out in July 2025 as a staged release. Since it's generally available on Copilot now however, Microsoft still deploying the feature across eligible accounts and to different regions. Therefore, even with a Microsoft account and with the correct settings, your account or region may have not been eligible for this feature just yet. Unfortunately, there is no exact date for the Memory feature to be eligible worldwide/per user, but the rollout has already started, the feature should be updated on your Copilot soon.

    2. Are there any known limitations to image generation?

    • Yes, there are several known limitations within Copilot. The core technology in Copilot is a powerful tool, but it can sometimes struggle with complex tasks, request. In your case, it could struggle with "gear logic" or intricate composition with specific details
    • Generative AI models are trained on vast and hug datasets, and their interpretation of artistic can be vary and might not be consistent with all models and prompts. A slight change to a prompt could also lead to a completely different final product
    • The issue with full-body requests returning cropped image is also one of the common limitations. Copilot usually focus on the important subjects and with the extra detail or more request for broader, complete scenes could lead the AI to a struggle point where the data may end up as a portraits/close-up shot

    3. Will upgrade to Copilot improve consistency or style fidelity?

    • Upgrade to Pro license would likely improve your experience but not a guaranteed fix for all the issue that you've mentioned. The Pro license allowed you to access to the latest and more powerful AI models such as GPT-4 and DALL- 3
    • Copilot Pro will also provide additional 100 entries for image generation
