Start with repairs, then manual uninstall if needed, and reinstall. Back up files/registry first; run as admin on Windows 10/11. 

It could be due to corrupted system files, missing components like Visual C++ Redistributables, or installation conflicts. I'll guide you through repairs, manual uninstall (since the troubleshooter failed), and reinstallation. 

Repair System Files (Fix the Bad Image Error 0xc000012f) 

This error often stems from corrupted Windows files or missing dependencies. Run these scans before uninstalling—they might let you repair Office without a full wipe. 

1. Run System File Checker (SFC): 

Right-click the Start button and select Windows Terminal (Admin) or Command Prompt (Admin). 

Type the following command and press Enter: 
sfc /scannow 

Wait for it to complete (it may take 10-30 minutes). If it finds issues, restart your PC. 

2. Run DISM (if SFC doesn't fully fix it): 

In the same admin Command Prompt, type these commands one by one, pressing Enter after each: 
DISM.exe /Online /Cleanup-Image /CheckHealth 
DISM.exe /Online /Cleanup-Image /ScanHealth 
DISM.exe /Online /Cleanup-Image /RestoreHealth 

This can take 20-40 minutes. Restart afterward. 

3. Install/Repair Visual C++ Redistributables (common culprit for 0xc000012f): 

Download the latest Visual C++ Redistributable from Microsoft's site: x64 version and x86 version. 

Run each installer and select Repair if prompted (or install if missing). Restart your PC. 

After these, try opening an Office app like Word. If it works, great. Skip to Step 4 for updates. If not, proceed to uninstall. 

Manual Uninstall of Office (Since Troubleshooter Failed) 

The Microsoft Support and Recovery Assistant (SaRA) tool you tried is the official one, but when it fails, manual removal is next. Warning: This is advanced back up important files first, as mistakes could affect your system. You'll need admin rights, and it may require restarting multiple times. Close all Office apps and antivirus temporarily. 

First, confirm your Office type (likely Click-to-Run for Microsoft 365/Office 2016+): 

• Try opening Excel/Word > File > Account > About (if it opens). Look for "Click-to-Run" in the version info. 

For Click-to-Run Installations (Most Common): 

1. End Office Processes: 

Press Ctrl + Shift + Esc to open Task Manager. 

Under Processes, end any tasks like OfficeClickToRun.exe, OfficeC2RClient.exe, or setup*.exe (right-click > End task). 

2. Delete Scheduled Tasks: 

Open Command Prompt as admin. 

Run these commands one by one (press Enter after each): 
schtasks.exe /delete /tn "\Microsoft\Office\Office Automatic Updates" /f 
schtasks.exe /delete /tn "\Microsoft\Office\Office Subscription Maintenance" /f 
schtasks.exe /delete /tn "\Microsoft\Office\Office ClickToRun Service Monitor" /f 
schtasks.exe /delete /tn "\Microsoft\Office\OfficeTelemetryAgentLogOn2016" /f 
schtasks.exe /delete /tn "\Microsoft\Office\OfficeTelemetryAgentFallBack2016" /f 

3. Delete the Office Service: In admin Command Prompt: sc delete ClickToRunSvc 

4. Delete Office Folders: 

Press Windows + R, type %ProgramFiles%, and press Enter. Delete the Microsoft Office and Microsoft Office 16 folders (if present). 

Repeat with %ProgramFiles(x86)%. Delete Microsoft Office. 

Then %CommonProgramFiles%\Microsoft Shared. Delete ClickToRun. 

%ProgramData%\Microsoft. Delete Office. 

%localappdata%\Microsoft\Office. Delete 16.0 (or similar version folder). 

%appdata%\Microsoft. Delete Templates and Office. 

5. Clean the Registry (Critical—Back It Up First!): 

Press Windows + R, type regedit, and press Enter (approve UAC). 

Back up the registry: File > Export > Save as .reg file. 

Navigate to and delete these keys (right-click the key > Delete; confirm for subkeys): 
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Office 
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\Office 
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Office\16.0 (or your version)

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Uninstall search for "Office" entries and delete them. 
Also check HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\WOW6432Node\Microsoft\Office for 32-bit remnants. 

Close Registry Editor and restart your PC. 

6. Run the Program Install/Uninstall Troubleshooter (Optional Cleanup): 

Download from Microsoft: Fix problems that block programs from being installed or removed. 

Run it, select Uninstalling, and choose Office. 

If it's an MSI installation (older versions), use Add/Remove Programs instead, or search for "MSI uninstall Office" for tailored steps. For Microsoft Store installs, go to Settings > Apps > Search for Office > Uninstall. 

Reinstall Office 

1. Check Disk Space (For Error 30189-25):
