Processes in Microsoft 365 for setting up Office apps, redeeming product keys, and activating licenses.
1. Remove all accounts from windows settings
- Navigate to Settings > Accounts > Email & accounts.
- Under Accounts used by other apps, remove all accounts include Business and Personal. Note: This may also remove them from New Outlook. If you rely on them for email, consider using them in a browser or a separate profile.
Correct, this removed my Outlook.com account from the New Outlook. I used to normally use it through the web browser and Microsoft kept showing a notification to use the New Outlook app instead.
2. Clear Windows Credentials: [...] 3. Disconnect Work Account:
I have cleared all entries numerous times all with the same result back. Microsoft 365 makes me re-login back in to these accounts, re-authenticate, and this entire disaster is back again.
4. Sign In Again: Sign in only Business account. About Outlook, I strongly recommend you using Classic Outlook
In Outlook Classic I have the business email account set up and no problems. It seems once I set up and used the business email account in Outlook Classic, this triggered Microsoft 365 apps to constantly switch among the other personal accounts and business account.
Microsoft 365 apps would somehow pull in other old [closed] accounts that I haven't used for years and uses the email account for Microsoft 365. The account never had Microsoft 365 in that email account. Where is Microsoft getting the other email accounts for Microsoft Accounts when they have never been used on any of my computers for years?
I read somewhere on Microsoft web site that the AI searches throughout your history, currently or archived in Microsoft servers, and possibly pulling in these accounts and information. Apparently my cell phone number is still in these accounts, but I cannot access nor authenticate them because Microsoft closed these accounts.
Somehow Microsoft Copilot shows my very old msn.com email account for a login, only for Copilot, and that account has not been used for decades. Microsoft's AI technology sure is pulling in old data and accounts that should have been deleted years ago.
Anyway, all these steps still does NOT correct the Microsoft 365 problems. Multiple old and current accounts switching on its own and constantly trying to correct things are very time consuming.
