Hi,

I have a few users, including myself, who don't receive notification and sound when new email come in when using the New Outlook app. Is this s known issues? No issues when they toggle back to the old version

I have done the following to try and fix it:

  • reinstalled the new app
  • Checked all notification setting in the New Outlook app and in Windows
  • Checked and done the below
    User's image
  • Turned on and off the notifications

Any suggestions would be great.

Thanks,

Brian

It is a known issue. Microsoft is "Working on a fix".

I got it working, although it might not be your case.

I tried to assign a custom sound to the notification from within Outlook, it said that cannot access to the "system" folder C:\Windows\Media. So I set it with a personal audio file from a non-system folder, and it started working like a charm.

    Hi @Brian Liu ,

May I know if you are not receiving banner notification for emails or calendar?

In new Outlook, go to Settings > click General > click Notifications and expand each section and share the screenshot with us.

    User's image

Please expand the Notification section and ensure option 'Allow notifications to play sound' is turned on. Now, scroll down to the section Mail > for 'New email', select Desktop > play sound is on > same goes to for the sections 'Reactions and Mentions'.
