    Hi @R&D Life Safety Systems

Thank you for posting your question in the Microsoft Q&A forum.

I understand you're experiencing an issue when trying to forward an email with attachments using the "three dots" menu in Outlook Web.

Based on what you've described, the issue may be due to one of the following:

    • The attachment is corrupted or in an unsupported format.
    • The file size exceeds the forwarding limit (typically 25MB).
    • Your browser may be having trouble with cookies or cached data.
    • A temporary issue with the Exchange or Outlook Web App server.
    • Security policies may be blocking certain file types (e.g., .exe, .zip, etc.).

Here are several steps I recommend:

1/ I suggest trying this method first:

    1. Download the File: Open the original email and save the attachment (e.g., "Re: attached state paperwork") to your desktop or a known folder.
    2. Create a New Email: Click "New Message" in Outlook Web.
    3. Attach the File: Add the saved file to the new email.
    4. Send: Enter the recipient and message, then send.  User's image

This approach bypasses the automatic packaging process used in the "Forward" function and often resolves the issue.

    • Check File Size and Type: Even if you received the file successfully, it may still fail to forward if it's close to the size limit or has a restricted extension.
      • Please try compress the file into a .zip format and attach it to a new email.
    • Retry Forwarding: Wait 5–10 minutes and try forwarding again, as the issue may be temporary.
    • Switch Browsers: If you're using other browsers, try Edge.

2/ Clear Cache and Cookies: This often resolves browser-related issues.

3/ Use OneDrive: Upload the file to OneDrive and share it as a link in your email. Share OneDrive files and folders - Microsoft Support

4/ Use Outlook Desktop App: If available, try forwarding the email using the Outlook desktop application.

I hope this information is helpful. Please follow these steps and let me know if it works for you. If not, we can work together to resolve this.

Thank you for your patience and your understanding. If you have any questions, please feel free to reach out.

I'm looking forward to your reply.

    Hi @R&D Life Safety Systems

Thank you for the detailed update. I appreciate the time you've taken to test and share what you've tried so far.

To further isolate the issue, could you please try the following steps to see if they help resolve the problem?

    1. Uninstall and reinstall the New Outlook: This can help reset any corrupted settings or files that might be causing the issue.
      • Open Settings > Apps > Installed Apps.
      • Search for Outlook and click Uninstall.
      • After uninstalling, go to the Microsoft Store, search for Outlook, and reinstall the New Outlook version.
    2. Check your antivirus software: Sometimes, third-party antivirus programs can interfere with Outlook's operations. If you have antivirus software installed:
      • Open the antivirus program.
      • Look for an option to temporarily disable or pause protection.
      • Once disabled, open Outlook and try forwarding the email as an attachment again.
      • If it works after disabling the antivirus, the issue may be related to the antivirus settings.

Let me know if you notice any changes after trying these steps. I’m happy to assist.

I was able to resolve the issue by going to control center, uninstall/install finding outlook, Selecting Reset restarting the program.
