How to disable Meeting Compact View?

At present, Microsoft Teams allows users to minimize the meeting compact view, but it requires two separate actions to fully close it. Unfortunately, there is no available setting to disable this feature in advance before joining a meeting. The lack of an option to fully disable the meeting compact view may occasionally cause minor distractions and affect concentration, which could influence workflow efficiency and overall user experience in certain scenarios. 

Your suggestion to include an option to disable this feature is valid and aligns with how many professionals collaborate today. If you’d like to share your idea directly with the product team, you can do so right within Teams by selecting Settings > Give feedback. This ensures your voice is heard and considered for future updates.

I know this isn't the answer you were hoping for, and I want you to know that I wish I had a way to change it for you directly. I understand how inconvenient it must be to the compact meeting window that appears when minimizing a call in Microsoft Teams can disrupt your workflow. Microsoft Teams desktop app allows you to fully minimize the presenter call window. Unfortunately, this functionality is not yet available on the Teams web version, where the minimized call window remains visible and cannot be completely hidden. 

To help me better understand the situation and assist you effectively, could you please share a few details such as:  

1/ Which version of Microsoft Teams are you currently using (desktop app, web or mobile)?  

2/ What is the version number of your Teams app?  

You can find this by going to More options (···) > Settings > About Teams. 

This will help us better understand the context and provide more targeted support. Any additional information will help us better understand and support you.   

In the meantime, here are a few workarounds you can try: 

Option 1: Use the Teams Desktop App 

Make sure your Teams app and Windows system are fully updated to access the latest features. 

Select Update > Update and restart Teams .   

After updating, try joining a test call to see if the issue persists. 

Option 2: Use Teams on the Web (with a workaround) 

While in a call on the web version, try opening a new browser tab or window to continue working. This can help avoid the disruptive mini call window overlay.
