Why is an event extended 1-day in the new outlook app?

I have an event that goes from 7/19-7/26 but the event appears also on 7/27. Nothing in the event will account for it. What's going on and more importantly, how can I fix it...or is it a bug?

Echoing Cameron's points above, I'll noted that when creating a new, multi-day/all-day event, my Outlook calendar will initially appear correctly, e.g., from Oct 23-Oct 25. But then a few seconds later, it will auto-update to reflect Oct 22-Oct 25. In my experience, the time range gets extended at the front end, not added at the back end.

Still... I don't have a working solution to this bug.

    (1) Verified the time zone (easiest to check) - phone and desktop on EST/New York.

    (2) My iPhone calendar shows the proper days (ending on 7/26), but the Outlook app still extends to the 7/27 even after a few clicks on the "sync".

    (3) I added a new event using the same dates and the new event (ALL DAY) also extended to 7/27.

    (4) I added a new event using times instead of all day (repeated daily) and it stopped on 7/26. However, I find this an inferior option as I can't see the continuation of an event with a glance - it requires looking at each day until the end. I had this feature working with Google and just moved to Outlook, but this needs to be fixed as currently, your calendar gets a 5 out of 10. Multiple day events are important to what I do.

    Hi Cameron McGough

Thanks for reaching out to Microsoft Q&A forum support

Based on your description, I understand that you have an Outlook calendar event scheduled from July 19 to July 26, but it unexpectedly appears on July 27 as well. You’ve confirmed that no settings or content within the event justify this additional date, and you're concerned whether this behavior is due to a bug in the Outlook app.

As far as I know, this issue may be caused by one or more of the following factors:

    • Time zone misalignment: All-day events are sensitive to time zone settings. If the event is set to end at midnight UTC, it may appear as extending into the next day depending on your local time zone.
    • Event metadata corruption: Occasionally, calendar entries may retain hidden metadata or recurrence patterns that cause them to display incorrectly.
    • Synchronization anomalies: If you use Outlook across multiple platforms (e.g., desktop, mobile, web), inconsistencies in sync timing or cache may result in incorrect rendering of event dates.

To address this issue, the following workaround methods are recommended:

    • Verify and adjust time zone settings: Ensure that both your device and Outlook account are set to the correct time zone, and consider converting the event from "All Day" to a timed event (e.g., 12:00 AM to 11:59 PM).
    • Recreate the event: Delete the existing event and manually create a new one with the correct date range to eliminate any hidden or corrupted metadata.
    • Clear cache or reinstall the Outlook app: If the issue persists only on mobile, clearing the app cache or reinstalling the app may resolve display inconsistencies.

If the issue still persists after trying above approach, let me know in the comment section for further support.
