MSN stories not opening up

My husband has a Dell that still has Windows 10. When he accesses MSN through Microsoft Edge for news to read, he clicks on the story, the next page states it can't reach the page and at the bottom of the web address it states it is unreachable with this error code: err_address_unreachable and has a tab to refresh it which does nothing.

Any ideas how to correct it?

Thanks

    Dear Michal Wheeler,

Thank you for reaching out to the Microsoft Q&A Forum.

That sounds frustrating! The ERR_ADDRESS_UNREACHABLE error specifically means that Microsoft Edge couldn't find the server for the page the MSN story linked to.

You could try following these steps below to solve this issue:

    1. Clear browser cache and cookies:
      • Open Microsoft Edge
      • Press Ctrl + Shift + Delete to open Clear browsing data.
      • Set the Time range to All time.
      • Make sure Cookies and other site data and Cached images and files are checked.
      • Click Clear now.
      • Close and reopen Edge then try again.
    2. Disable browser extensions:
      • Click the three dots (...) in Edge.
      • Select Extensions.
      • Click Manage extensions.
      • Temporarily turn off all extensions using the toggle switches.
      • Restart Edge and try accessing an MSN story link. If it works, turn extensions back on one by one, testing after each, to find the culprit.
    3. Flush DNS cache:
      • Click the Start button, type cmd, right-click on Command Prompt and select Run as administrator.
      • Run this command: ipconfig /flushdns
      • You should see a message saying "Successfully flushed the DNS Resolver Cache."
      • Close the Command Prompt and try the MSN links again.
    4. Change DNS Servers:
      • Click the Start button, type Control Panel, and open it.
      • Go to Network and Internet > Network and Sharing Center.
      • On the left, click Change adapter settings.
      • Right-click on the network connection you are using (e.g., "Wi-Fi" or "Ethernet") and select Properties.
      • Select "Internet Protocol Version 4 (TCP/IPv4)" and click Properties.
      • Select the option "Use the following DNS server addresses:".
      • Google DNS:
      • Preferred DNS server: 8.8.8.8
      • Alternate DNS server: 8.8.4.4
      • Cloudflare DNS:
      • Preferred DNS server: 1.1.1.1
      • Alternate DNS server: 1.0.0.1
      • Click OK, then Close.
      • Restart your computer and test again.

Please let me know if these steps could help.
