Windows 11 – USB DVB-T Driver fails to install (“Windows was unable to install your USB device” / “Not for this platform”)

Hello everyone,

I’m having trouble installing my USB DVB-T receiver on Windows 11, and I’ve tried almost every possible fix.

The same DVB-T device and driver worked fine on Windows 10.

After upgrading to Windows 11, when I plug in the DVB-T USB stick, Device Manager shows it as an Unknown USB Device.

When I try to install the original driver manually using “Browse my computer for drivers”, Windows gives the error:

“Windows was unable to install your USB Device.”

or

“The driver is not for this platform.”

I also enabled Test Mode (with bcdedit /set testsigning on) and restarted, then tried to install again — but it still says “not installed.”

The driver was originally made for Windows 10, and it might be unsigned or not fully compatible with Windows 11’s driver signature requirements.

Device Manager always ends up showing the device as “not installed.”

Device model:

USB DVB-T – PCDVB-4100 / 3100 / 3000

Driver names:

it9135bda.inf

WinFast DTV Dongle Dual Device

Is there any known workaround or compatibility setting to install older USB drivers on Windows 11?

Or could recent Windows 11 updates have blocked legacy DVB-T driver installation?

Any help or ideas would be greatly appreciated 🙏

Thank you!
