I have a corporate Office and Copilot license. I can see that it is available currently for developers in a testing environment.

Hi @Charles Keown

Thank you for posting your question in the Microsoft Q&A forum. Based on my research, this feature is currently only available to Microsoft 365 Insiders on the Beta Channel. The Beta Channel is part of the Microsoft 365 Insider program, which allows users to test new features before they are released broadly.

Please note that as a forum moderator, and my role is to assist based on publicly available documentation, research, and community experience. I hope you can understand that I work independently from the product development team, so I don’t have access to internal timelines or deployment plans.

However, I checked the Microsoft 365 Roadmap (which is the official source for upcoming feature releases), and here’s what I found:

  • Excel Desktop App
    • ID: 499658
    • Status: In development
    • Rollout start: December 2025

Both features are planned for release, but the exact General Availability (GA) date has not yet been confirmed. GA means the feature will be broadly available to all eligible users without requiring participation in the Insider or Beta programs.

While the timeline for GA hasn’t been announced, the best way to stay informed is by monitoring the Microsoft 365 Roadmap, which provides the most accurate and up-to-date information.

You can track updates here (use the search bar and enter the feature ID): Microsoft 365 Roadmap | Microsoft 365
