Recently when I visit the outlook.office.com site to access my work emails on my Android phone the website repeatedly tries to redirect me to the Outlook App which is my personal outlook.

It then states 'Failed to Redirect' after multiple attempts.

Sometimes it gets as far as opening the app.

Only recently started to happen.

Instead of going around in circles... This is clearly caused by Google firebase dynamic links gone bad with latest updates to the native Outlook app...., just roll back to the version before last Thursday.... Even the UK NHS has declared an incident.... https://support.nhs.net/2025/10/inc46666565-users-receiving-redirect-failed-error-when-trying-to-navigate-from-portal-nhs-net-to-email-outlook-office-com/

    Android -> Settings
    Search for outlook
Open Outlook App Info -> Set as Default

    Disable "Open supported links".

Or you can leave "Open supported links" enabled and edit "Supported web addresses" to remove any references to MS 365 Work URLs

    Hi

Nothing works. It's clearly a bug since they update outlook recently. I can't use the browser version full stop now.

Yes, issue is still happening. It's been since the outlook app was updated (new logo/icon).

I've had to put my work emails into the Outlook application to access them. This isn't great, though, as I get automated emails throughout the night.

I can't access Outlook via the phone web browser at all.

    Hi @Michael Maxwell

Thank you for posting your question in Microsoft Q&A.

It looks like your Android device is detecting your setup and trying to hand off to the native Outlook app for a smoother experience. However, this is being disrupted by an authentication or deep link issue. The Outlook Web App (OWA) in your Android browser is being triggered, but it's misfiring, likely because the Outlook app is tied to your personal Microsoft account instead of your work Microsoft 365/Exchange Online account.

This mismatch can cause a redirect loop, especially if cookies, cached credentials, or account associations are conflicting. Since this issue started recently, it may be due to a browser update, an Outlook app update, or a change in how Microsoft handles mobile redirects.

Could you follow these steps to trouble shoot it:

1.Clear Browser Cache and Cookies for Outlook Sites

    Open your browser's settings

Select "Cookies and site data" and "Cached images and files" for the last 7 days (or all time).

    Specifically search for and delete cookies/domains like outlook.office.com, outlook.live.com, login.microsoft.com, and office.com.

Restart the browser, then try accessing outlook.office.com again.

2.Temporarily disable the Personal Outlook App

The redirect is likely deep-linking to the installed app, causing the issue when accounts don't match.

Go to Settings > Apps > Outlook > Disable.

Restart your phone, then try the website.

It should fall back to in-browser without redirect attempts.

3.Update your Outlook App and Browser, or switch to another browsers

A recent update may have introduced this behavior.

Ensure your browser and Outlook app are fully updated.

If the issue persists, try a different browser to see if it’s browser-specific.

Additionally, you might consider accessing your work account using incognito/private mode. This can help prevent redirects to the Outlook app and avoid credential conflicts on your mobile device.

Please understand that our initial reply may not always immediately resolve the issue. However, with your help and more detailed information, we can work together to find a solution.
