To get your laptop to recognize additional monitors, follow these steps:

    1. Connect the Monitors: Ensure that your monitors are properly connected to your laptop using the appropriate cables (HDMI, DisplayPort, USB-C, etc.).
    2. Power On the Monitors: Make sure the external monitors are powered on.
    3. Detect Displays: On your laptop, right-click on the desktop and select "Display settings". In the display settings window, scroll down and click on the "Detect" button to prompt your laptop to recognize the connected monitors.
    4. Adjust Display Settings: Once the monitors are detected, you can choose how you want to use them (e.g., extend or duplicate the display) by selecting the appropriate option under "Multiple displays".
    5. Update Drivers: If the monitors are still not recognized, ensure that your graphics drivers are up to date. You can check for updates through the Device Manager or the manufacturer's website.
    6. Check Compatibility: Ensure that your laptop supports multiple monitors. Some laptops may have limitations on the number of external displays they can support.

If you are using a USB-attached monitor, be aware that there may be issues with display configuration retention after rebooting, as described in the documentation.

Hello, thank you for reaching out to Microsoft Q&A.

How are both monitors connected to your laptop? (e.g., like through HDMI, VGA, DisplayPort, USB-C, or through a docking station)

Click Windows + P to open Projection settings, select the Duplicate or extend these displays option to detect the other monitor**.**
