My daughter who is 16 years old is the admin of our family pack of MS 365. She is now getting a message that you need parental consent for accessing MS 365. While I as a parent is part of the family pack am not able to give her consent since MS pack does not recognise me as legal guardian / parent.

It is a loop

How do we solve such a problem.

    Hello Rajesh,

This happens because Microsoft flags accounts under 18 as child accounts and sometimes misidentifies organizers. First check your family setup at Microsoft Family Safety and make sure you’re listed as an organizer, Only organizers can give consent. If you’re not recognized as an adult, create a new Microsoft account with your correct birthdate, add it as an organizer, and use it to provide consent.

If both accounts are stuck in the loop, this is a known bug that requires Microsoft Support to reset the Family Safety association on their backend. Contact them under Account & Profile > Family Safety > Unable to access account and provide both email addresses. Once resolved, update birthdates for all accounts and keep at least one verified adult account as an organizer to prevent future issues.

To resolve the issue of parental consent looping in Microsoft 365, follow these steps:

    1. Verify Family Group Settings: Ensure that your family group is set up correctly in Microsoft 365. You should be listed as a parent or guardian in the family group.
    2. Check Age Verification: Since your daughter is 16, she may need parental consent for certain features. Make sure that your account is recognized as the legal guardian. You might need to verify your identity through a trusted source.
    3. Revoke and Re-grant Consent: If the system is stuck in a loop, try revoking any existing consent and then re-granting it. You can do this through the family settings in your Microsoft account.
    4. Use Microsoft Support: If the issue persists, consider reaching out to Microsoft support for assistance. They can provide guidance specific to your account and help resolve any technical issues.
    5. Clear Cache and Cookies: Sometimes, clearing your browser's cache and cookies can help resolve looping issues in web applications.

By following these steps, you should be able to address the parental consent issue effectively.
