If you are experiencing issues with the preview display of PDF files on OneDrive, it may be due to a few reasons. One common issue is related to the integration of PDF viewing in Microsoft 365 for the web, which is being deprecated. As a result, OneDrive no longer uses Microsoft 365 for the web for PDF viewing. Instead, modern browsers and mobile devices typically have their own built-in PDF support, which may affect how PDFs are displayed in OneDrive.

Additionally, if you have any session policies that block downloads, this could also prevent PDF previews from displaying correctly. For instance, if a session policy is set to block downloads for Outlook Web Access, it may interfere with the ability to preview or print PDF files.

To troubleshoot, you might want to check if there are any policies in place that could be affecting PDF previews or try accessing the PDFs using a different browser or device to see if the issue persists.

    Hi @barison caporale,

Welcome to the Microsoft Q&A forum.

Thank you for reaching out to us. I understand that you are unable to preview PDF files directly on OneDrive. Please allow me to provide the following information:

First, I recommend using the Microsoft Edge browser for this process.

Step 1: Clear your browser cache

Press Ctrl + Shift + Delete → select Clear now.

Step 2: Access OneDrive and try to preview the PDF file on your OneDrive.

Since your account is a business account, it is managed by your tenant administrator.

If the steps above do not resolve the issue, the cause may be one of the following:

    • OneDrive settings or access permissions

    • If the file is shared but you do not have permission to view it, the preview feature will not work.
    • Solution: Check the sharing permissions and try opening the file using the owner’s account.

    • Company security policies

    • Some internal networks or security policies may block the preview feature.
    • Solution: Please contact your tenant administrator to check if any company policies are preventing file previews on OneDrive.

I hope this information is helpful. Please follow the steps above and let me know the result. If the issue persists, we can work together to find a solution.

Thank you for your patience and understanding. If you have any questions or need further assistance, please leave a comment on this post so I can continue to support you.

I look forward to hearing back from you.
