How can I stop my screen from going to sleep while I am using it? I have changed all of my selections to never and my screen will still go to sleep while I am in the middle of using my PC. This is the most frustrating PC I have ever owned. I sure hope someone can help me. Thank you for your time. Can you email me at ******@yahoo.com with answers.

To stop your screen from going to sleep while you are using your PC, you can adjust the power settings in Windows. Here are the steps you can follow:

    1. Open Settings: Click on the Start menu and select Settings.
    2. Go to System: Click on System and then select Power & sleep from the left sidebar.
    3. Adjust Sleep Settings: Under the Sleep section, you can set the options for both "When plugged in" and "On battery" to Never. This will prevent your screen from going to sleep.
    4. Check Advanced Power Settings: If the issue persists, you may want to check the advanced power settings. Go to Control Panel > Power Options > Change plan settings for your selected power plan, and then click on Change advanced power settings. Here, you can further customize settings related to sleep and display.
    5. PowerToys Awake: If you are still having issues, consider using the PowerToys Awake utility, which keeps your computer awake without modifying power and sleep settings. This tool is particularly useful during long tasks or presentations.

Make sure to save any changes you make and check if the problem is resolved. If your screen continues to go to sleep despite these settings, there may be other factors at play, such as hardware issues or third-party software affecting power management.

Hi kim croudup, I can imagine how frustrating this is you’ve already set everything to Never yet your screen still goes to sleep while you’re actively using the PC.

To stop your screen from going to sleep reset monitor timeouts using powercfg commands and disable the screen saver, turn off Modern Standby by editing the registry, disable any OEM or GPU power-saving features, check active sleep requests with powercfg /requests to close apps forcing display off and if needed run a PowerShell loop that sends a harmless key every 50 seconds to keep the display awake.

When the screen goes to sleep does the PC remain active fans running, apps still open or does the entire system enter a low-power state, and have you checked if any power requests are listed when you run powercfg /requests?

    Best regards
