Why is the FILES tab missing in all my Teams?

Most probably because Microsoft have decided to rename the 'Files' tab to 'Shared', rollout started this month. Been getting a lot of confused users asking about this.

For any one reading this.
Chris White in the first comment was correct and the MS responders do not seem to be aware of the rollout.

It is not only a tab name change, but adds clutter to the file system by showing you documents that have been shared in the team in the form of those Microsoft document preview.

Yet another screen from Microsoft that i will no longer user as it becomes a visual nightmare.
I would recomend, if its not for you, adding a new tab as a link direct to the SharePoint library which gives you the same layout as the old "Files" tab, but without the new clutter.

Delete Teams, migrate to Slack, and be done with this foolishness.

Here are the most common ways to restore the Files tab:

• Navigate to the affected Team Channel. 
• Click the + symbol (Add a tab) at the top of the channel. 
• Select the SharePoint app. 
• Choose the option to add the Document Library (it should automatically point to the current channel's folder). 

Note: This effectively re-adds the functionality of the standard Files tab. 

Step 2: Access Files via the SharePoint Site: 

• In the affected channel, click the ... (More options) menu next to the channel name. 
• Select Open in SharePoint. 
• This will take you directly to the SharePoint document library where the files are stored. If the files are accessible here, it confirms the data is intact and the issue is just with the Teams tab. 

Step 3: Check for hidden tabs (If you suspect it was hidden): 

• In the channel's tab bar, look for the small down arrow (or the More tab) that may be hiding extra tabs.
