But I can’t seem to log in because I don’t have an account. It makes no sense, and Microsoft’s helpdesk isn’t helping either — they keep sending me back to the customer portal, which I can’t access.

To log onto your Microsoft 365 account, you typically need to have an account set up. If you believe you should have access but are unable to log in, here are a few steps you can take:

    1. Check Your Credentials: Ensure that you are using the correct email address and password associated with your Microsoft 365 account. If you don't remember your password, you can reset it by following the appropriate procedures.
    2. Contact Your Administrator: If your account is part of an organization, reach out to your administrator for assistance. They can verify whether your account is active and help with any access issues.
    3. Use Self-Service Password Reset: If you have the ability to reset your own password, you can use the Self-Service Password Reset wizard. For work or school accounts, visit passwordreset.microsoftonline.com. For personal Microsoft accounts, go to account.live.com/ResetPassword.aspx.
    4. Access Support: If you're still having trouble, you can try contacting Microsoft support directly for further assistance. You can start a service request online through the admin center if you have access.

If you are unable to access the customer portal, it may be necessary to clarify your account status with Microsoft support directly, as they can provide specific guidance based on your situation.

    Hi Bruno,

Thank you for sharing your question. I understand how annoying it is when you can't log into Microsoft 365 and just get bounced around. Usually, this happens when your subscription isn't tied to a working Microsoft account, or if the account wasn't set up right in the first place. Let’s sort this together.

Basically, Microsoft 365 needs a real Microsoft account or a work/school account that goes with your subscription to let you in. If you bought Microsoft 365 but skipped making an account when you set it up, the system won't know who you are.

So, here's what you can try.

Head over to account.microsoft.com and try logging in with any email you think you might have used when you bought it. If that doesn't pan out, hit 'Create account' to make a new Microsoft account. After that, you can activate your subscription by typing in your product key at setup.office.com. If you're missing your product key or the confirmation email, you'll have to get in touch with Microsoft Support and prove you bought it so they can link your subscription to your new account.

May I also ask did you buy Microsoft 365 straight from Microsoft or from someone else?

I hope this answer is helpful, if you have any questions, feel free to reply.

    Best regards,

    Noel
