    Dear @Sarah Kaisman,

Thank you for posting your question in the Microsoft Q&A forum.

Based on your description, you can’t type Hebrew in Word on Windows 11 even though the fonts are installed.

Here are some suggestions you can try:

    Add Hebrew Language to Windows

    • Go to Settings > Time & Language > Language & Region.
    • Click Add a language, search for Hebrew, and install it.
    • After installation, sign out and sign back in if prompted.

    Activate Hebrew Keyboard Layout

    • Press Windows + Spacebar or Alt + Shift to switch between installed languages.
    • Ensure the language bar shows Hebrew when typing in Word.

    Configure Word for Hebrew

    • In Word, go to File > Options > Language.
    • Under Choose Editing Languages, add Hebrew.
    • Set proofing language to Hebrew for spellcheck and grammar. Font Issues

Most standard fonts (Arial, Times New Roman) support Hebrew. If custom fonts like David or Narkisim fail:

    • Check C:\Windows\Fonts for Hebrew fonts.
    • If missing, install optional font features via Settings >Apps > Optional Features > Add a feature > Hebrew Supplemental Fonts.

I hope information above can be helpful, if you have any other questions, please feel free to reach out.

To type in Hebrew on Word in Windows 11, ensure that you have added Hebrew as a language in your system settings. Here are the steps to do this:

    1. Open Settings: Right-click on the Start menu and select Settings.
    2. Navigate to Time & Language: In the left pane, select Time & language.
    3. Language & Region: Click on Language & region.
    4. Add Hebrew: Under the Language section, click on Add a language and search for Hebrew. Select it and click Next to install.
    5. Switch to Hebrew: Once installed, you can switch to Hebrew by selecting it from the Windows display language drop-down menu. You may need to sign out and back in for the changes to take effect.
    6. Typing in Word: Open Word, and you should be able to type in Hebrew using the Hebrew keyboard layout. You can switch between languages using the language bar or keyboard shortcuts (usually Alt + Shift).

If you have already installed the Hebrew fonts but are still unable to type, make sure that the Hebrew keyboard layout is active when you are in Word.
