Hi @Black, Mark A,
Welcome to the Microsoft Q&A forum.
Thank you for your message concerning the retrieval of emails older than six months. According to the thread tag, I understand you are interested in methods to access these emails within New Outlook.
To ensure you can locate these messages effectively, you can use Outlook on the Web (OWA). OWA provides full access to your mailbox content stored on the server, regardless of local sync settings.
As the account type has not been specified, I may not be able to provide an exact solution. If you are using a work account, please refer to the following steps. If your account is not a business account, kindly share your account type so I can provide the correct instructions or connect you with the right team.
1/ Use the "Jump to" option in OWA:
- Log in to Outlook on the web
- Click the Jump To arrow (usually located near the top of the message list).
- Select the desired month and date from the dropdown.
- Click Go.

2/ Access Online Archive (If enabled)
If your organization uses Exchange Online Archiving, older emails may be moved to an In-Place Archive folder.
For guidance to locate the In-Place Archive folder, please refer to: Manage email storage with In-Place/Online Archive mailboxes - Microsoft Support
3/ Contact your company IT administrator
Some organizations apply retention policies that move or delete emails older than six months. These policies are designed to manage mailbox size and comply with corporate or regulatory requirements. If you are unable to locate older messages, your IT administrator can confirm whether such policies are in effect and advise on available recovery options.
I hope this information is helpful. Please follow these steps and let me know if it works for you. If not, we can work together to resolve this.
Thank you for your patience and your understanding. If you have any questions or need further assistance, please feel free to share them in the comments on this post so I can continue to support you.
I look forward to continuing the conversation.
