A cloud-based task management app from Microsoft that helps users organize and manage daily tasks across devices.
Dear @Jan Reeves,
Thank you for posting your question in the Microsoft Q&A forum. From what you’ve described I understand that you’re using Microsoft To-Do on iPhone, but notification reminders no longer appear despite reinstalls and restarts.
To better assistance, could you please confirm following information:
Are you signed into To Do with the same Microsoft account across all devices (iPhone/PC/Web)?
Do reminders appear on any other device (Windows, Mac, or Web at to‑do.office.com)?
- Do you also use a Smart Watch (notifications can route to Watch instead of iPhone)?
In the meantime, i recommend steps below:
1/ Sign out before reinstall
A simple reinstall does not clear account cache unless they sign out.
Open To Do > Settings > Sign out, then uninstall To Do, restart iPhone, reinstall, and sign in again.
2/ Refresh Background App Refresh
Settings > General > Background App Refresh > To Do, even if it appears ON, toggle it OFF > ON again.
This aligns with known causes in Microsoft To-Do iOS reliability issues.
3/ Force a push token refresh
Turn Airplane Mode ON, restart iPhone, then turn Airplane Mode OFF. This forces iOS to re‑register push tokens used for notifications.
4/ Verify the reminder itself
Edit a task > ensure Remind me has a future time/date and the task sits in a list that’s syncing.
Please understand that our initial response does not always resolve the issue immediately. However, with your help and more detailed information, we can work together to find a solution.
I truly appreciate your patience and understanding. If you have any further questions or need further clarification, please feel free to reach out. I'm looking forward to hearing from you.
Thank you for your cooperation.
