Thank you for your help. I "think" the problem may be the manual set up. It does not work automatically, and perhaps the server that I received is incorrect.

At this time, I suggest checking whether the SMTP settings were configured correctly. In some cases, the issue occurs because the Exchange account was added using the default automatic setup. To resolve this, use “Configure manually” when adding the Exchange account and then enter the SMTP details provided by the service provider.

For example, when adding the Exchange account:

Go to Add Account.

Choose Exchange > select Configure manually.

Enter the provider’s SMTP information, such as:

SMTP server: smtp.provider.com

Port: 587

Encryption: STARTTLS

Authentication: Enabled

Save the configuration and try sending again.

Additional information for you to have some insights: you can usually find the correct SMTP server, port, and encryption settings from one of the following sources:

Your email provider’s official documentation / support page

Your admin or IT department (if it's a work or school account)

Microsoft 365 admin center > Settings > Domains > DNS records (for Office 365 email)
