Hello Shirl Laliberte,

Thank you for your post in the Microsoft Q&A forum.

I understand you are receiving the error "To help prevent malicious code from running, one or more objects in this form were not loaded" when trying to create a new appointment in Outlook, and I can understand the confusion this causes.

This message is a security feature of Outlook designed to protect your system. The goal is not to force any blocked code to run, but to identify and resolve the conflict that is preventing the standard appointment form from loading properly.

This error usually indicates that an add-in or a custom component is interfering with the appointment form. Let's troubleshoot this step by step:

Step 1: Start Outlook in Safe Mode

This helps determine if an add-in is causing the problem.

  1. Close Outlook completely.
  2. Press Windows key + R, type outlook.exe /safe, and press Enter.
  3. In Safe Mode, try to create a new appointment.
    • If the error DOES NOT appear in Safe Mode, an add-in is likely the cause. Proceed to Step 2.
    • If the error STILL appears in Safe Mode, proceed to Step 3.

Step 2: Disable Add-ins

  1. Close and restart Outlook normally.
  2. Go to File > Options > Add-ins.
  3. At the bottom, next to "Manage:", select COM Add-ins and click Go....
  4. Uncheck the boxes for all add-ins listed and click OK. Restart Outlook.
  5. If the error is gone, re-enable add-ins one at a time, restarting Outlook after each, to identify the problematic one.

Step 3: Clear the Outlook Forms Cache

Disclaimer: Generally, modifying registry subkeys or work group is intended for advanced users, administrators, and IT Professionals. It can help fix some problems, however, serious problems might occur if you modify the registry incorrectly. Therefore, make sure that you follow these steps carefully. For further protection, first check out How to back up and restore the registry in Windows - Microsoft Support

  1. Close Outlook completely.
  2. Press Windows key + R, type regedit, and press Enter to open the Registry Editor.
  3. Navigate to the following key (you can copy and paste this into the Registry Editor's address bar):  HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Office\16.0\Outlook (Note: The "16.0" corresponds to Outlook 2016/2019/2021/Microsoft 365. If you have an older version, it might be "15.0" for Outlook 2013 or "14.0" for Outlook 2010).
  4. Look for a subfolder under Outlook named Forms. Right-click on the Forms folder and select Delete.
  5. Close the Registry Editor and restart Outlook. The cache will be rebuilt automatically.

Step 4: Repair your Office Installation

If the issue persists, you can repair the Office installation:

  1. Close all Office applications.
  2. Go to Windows Settings > Apps > Apps & features.
  3. Find your Microsoft Office installation, click on it, and select Modify.
  4. Choose Quick Repair and follow the prompts. If that doesn't work, try Online Repair.

Please try these steps in order and let me know the result at each stage. This information will be crucial for further analysis. I appreciate your patience and cooperation.
