Multiplayer Enabled through Microsoft yet Minecraft still not allowing

We've tried almost everything. I've edited account age. I've enabled all permissions to allow multiplayer but yet Minecraft realms and multiplayer are still broken. This issue persists through java and bedrock versions. This is incredibly frustrating as I just wanna play Minecraft with my sister.

    Hi Atley,

Welcome to the Microsoft Q&A Forum.

I’m really sorry this experience has been so frustrating, especially when you’re just trying to enjoy Minecraft together with your sister. Please confirm that you're trying to play Minecraft on PC or on an Xbox console?

Firstly, it's best to re-check with these steps to ensure your settings are synced:

1 - Confirm the correct Microsoft account is signed in

    • In Minecraft, open Profile and confirm the signed‑in email.
    • Make sure this matches the account where the privacy and age settings were updated.
    • If the account doesn’t match, sign out of Minecraft and sign back in with the correct one.

2 - Check Xbox privacy settings by going to Xbox Privacy & Online Safety, ensure the following settings are set to Allow:

    • Join multiplayer games
    • Play with people outside Xbox Live
    • Cross‑network play and communication

If the account was ever part of a Microsoft Family, restrictions can still apply. In this case, you can follow the steps below.

    • Remove the account completely from the family group.
    • Confirm the account shows no active family association.
    • Wait 15–30 minutes, restart the PC, and sign back into Minecraft.

If the issue still continues, you can consider contacting Xbox Support for direct assistance.

Let me know if you need further assistance, feel free to ask me by clicking "Add Comment" or "Add Answer" if you cannot add comment so your response will be visible. Thanks for your effort.

It sounds like you're experiencing issues with multiplayer functionality in Minecraft despite having enabled the necessary permissions. Here are a few troubleshooting steps you can consider:

    1. Check Xbox Live Settings: Ensure that your Xbox Live account settings allow for multiplayer gaming. Sometimes, parental controls or account restrictions can prevent access.
    2. Cross-Play Configuration: If you're trying to play across different platforms (Java and Bedrock), make sure that the cross-play settings are correctly configured in the game settings.
    3. Device Availability: Verify that both devices are set up correctly in the Partner Center and that they are enabled for multiplayer. Sometimes, the device family settings can restrict functionality.
    4. Session Ownership: Ensure that the session ownership is set correctly. If you are the owner of the session, make sure that the settings allow non-owners to send invites.
    5. Game Updates: Make sure that both versions of Minecraft are updated to the latest version, as updates can fix bugs and improve multiplayer connectivity.
    6. Network Issues: Check your internet connection and ensure that there are no network issues that could be affecting your ability to connect to Minecraft servers.

If you have gone through these steps and the issue persists, you may want to reach out to Minecraft support for further assistance.
