How to fix Account Mismatch and not being able to sign into XBOX (0x000000d)?

I can't log into XBOX, it gives me an error (0x000000d), and it says there's an account mismatch between XBOX and the Microsoft Store, even though the account is exactly the same. How do I fix this?

  • It automatically redirects me to give them a passkey I never set up, and I have to back out to get to the login, and then I try to log in normal
  • Doesn't work
  • Tried restarting computer
  • Tried repairing/reinstalling XBOX, Microsoft Store, Minecraft Launcher
  • Tried restarting after that
  • Tried deleting and reinstalling packages for Microsoft Store and XBOX Identity Provider, and the TokenBroker files.

None of this stuff worked, Minecraft Launcher and XBOX are inaccessible through login.

    Hello Lucas Packer,

    Welcome to Microsoft Q&A forum.

I understand how frustrating it might be when you are unable to log in to your account to play game. Before we proceed, may I know if your account is able to log in to account.microsoft.com and account.xbox.com normally?

In the meantime, please follow these steps to remove the credentials, you can then sign in again:

    • Type "Credential Manager" in the search bar and press Enter.
    • Find and remove all entries related to the Xbox App, Minecraft Launcher and the Microsoft Store.
    • Restart your PC and try to sign in again.

To address the account mismatch issue you're experiencing with Xbox and the Microsoft Store, consider the following steps:

    1. Check Account Sign-In: Ensure that you are signed into the same Microsoft Account (MSA) on both the Xbox app and the Microsoft Store. Sometimes, users may inadvertently switch accounts.
    2. Sign Out and Sign In Again: Sign out of both the Xbox app and the Microsoft Store, then sign back in. This can refresh the session and may resolve the mismatch.
    3. Verify Xbox Services Account: If you have set a preference for your Xbox services account to be different from your Microsoft Store account, ensure that you are using the correct account for purchases and sign-ins.
    4. Check for Updates: Ensure that both the Xbox app and Microsoft Store are updated to the latest versions. Outdated applications can sometimes cause sign-in issues.
    5. Clear Cache: Clear the cache for the Microsoft Store and Xbox app. You can do this by going to Settings > Apps > Apps & features, selecting the app, and choosing the option to reset or clear cache.
    6. Check for Developer Sandbox Issues: If you are testing in a Developer Sandbox, ensure that the sandbox is correctly set up and that your test account has access to it. Refer to the troubleshooting steps for switching sandboxes if necessary.

If these steps do not resolve the issue, you may need to consult Microsoft support for further assistance, as persistent issues could indicate a deeper account configuration problem.
