Problem with accessing the Minecraft launcher

2026-01-11T12:56:34.6366667+00:00

Hello! When I log in to Minecraft using my Microsoft account, I'm given a random email address. The system tells me that it has sent a code to this address, but I don't know this address. I can't log in with my own account. However, I can log in to Microsoft and the Microsoft Store without any issues. The problem only occurs when I try to log in to the Minecraft launcher.

    Dear @Анастасия Кешкек,

Thank you for posting your question in the Microsoft Q&A forum.

We apologize for any inconvenience you may encounter when using our services/ products. Based on your description, kindly try these following steps:

Fully sign out and remove the wrong account

    • Close the Minecraft Launcher.
    • Open Microsoft Store > profile picture > Sign out.
    • Open the Xbox app > profile > Sign out.
    • Windows Settings > Accounts > Email & accounts > under Accounts used by other apps, remove any Microsoft account entries you do not recognize or no longer use.
    • Press Win + R, run wsreset.exe to clear the Store cache.

Reset Xbox identity components and delete stale tokens

    • Update/Repair components
      • Open Microsoft Store > Library > Get updates (ensure Gaming Services, Xbox app, and Minecraft Launcher are updated).
      • If Xbox Identity Provider is missing, install it from Store; if present, Advanced options > Reset.
    • Clear Token Broker cache
      • Press Win + R, paste: %localappdata%\Packages\Microsoft.XboxIdentityProvider_8wekyb3d8bbwe\AC
      • If you see a TokenBroker folder, delete its contents.
    • Optional deeper reset (network + identity cache)
      • Open Command Prompt (Run as Administrator) and run:
    ipconfig /flushdns
    ipconfig /release
    ipconfig /renew
    net stop clipsvc
    del /S /Q C:\ProgramData\Microsoft\IdentityCache\*
    net start clipsvc
