Dear @Zarek,
Thank you for posting your question in the Microsoft Q&A forum.
Based on your description, it sounds like Copilot shows up in Word/Outlook and on Excel for the web but not in Excel desktop,
1, Verify you’re signed in with the Copilot‑licensed account
- In Excel: File > Account: check the user at the top. If it’s not your Copilot‑licensed work account, click Switch account.
- Then click Update License on the same page and restart Excel. Microsoft’s official “missing Copilot button” guidance calls this out explicitly
You also can refer to this link How to find and enable missing Copilot button in Microsoft 365 apps
2. Make sure your update channel is supported
- Copilot in the desktop apps requires Current Channel or Monthly Enterprise Channel. If you’re on Semi‑Annual Enterprise, the Copilot button won’t appear.
- Check in File > Account > About/Update Channel and, if needed, have IT move you to Current or Monthly Enterprise.

3. Confirm Excel build is up to date
- File > Account > Update Options > Update Now. (Copilot relies on recent builds of Microsoft 365 Apps.)
- Microsoft’s admin requirements page reiterates app/version readiness
4. If it’s still missing, check these organization
If you have tried all the methods above and it's still missing. Your tenant or device might be enforcing a policy that hides Copilot (Cloud Policy/Intune/Group Policy, privacy controls, or device‑based licensing scenarios). Ask IT to confirm that the Copilot service and connected experiences aren’t being disabled for your device or group. Microsoft’s admin guidance and field FAQ cover these considerations.
