Bing Copilot provides the world the info that my house, which is for sale, is off-market. How can I get help to correct this error?

I am selling a house, using a realtor. The house is for sale. But, if buyers search for it with Bing on Microsoft Edge, Copilot appears at the top of the search results and tells the world that the house is "off-market". The MLS does show the house for sale, but this listing at the top of the results means that potential buyers are discouraged from seeing the house. This is a big problem, but nobody I have talked to on the Microsoft Support Chat can help me.

    Hi Rachel Harwood

Thanks for posting in the Microsoft Q&A Forum!

I’m sorry you’re dealing with this inaccurate search result in Bing and Copilot, even though it is actively for sale. I know how frustrating and potentially harmful this can be when you’re trying to attract buyers. The good news is that there are steps you can take to help correct this.

    1. Confirm all listing sources show the property as active
      • Bing aggregates data from several real‑estate sources such as MLS, Zillow, Realtor.com, and brokerage sites. If any of these briefly show the listing as off‑market, even due to a sync delay, Bing may pick up that outdated status.
      • Ask your realtor to confirm the listing is active on all syndicated platforms.
      • Ensure no duplicates or temporary “off‑market” statuses exist anywhere.
    2. Report the incorrect Bing result
      • Bing allows you to report errors directly from the search results.
      • On the specific incorrect result, select the three‑dot menu and choose “Report a problem.”
      • At the bottom of the Bing search results page, use the “Feedback” link to submit the correct information and include your active MLS link.
    3. Request a re‑crawl/refresh if incorrect data persists
      • If all source sites show the correct information but Bing still displays outdated content, you can request a refresh of Bing’s indexed page.
      • Use the Microsoft Content Removal or Update tool to request that Bing re-crawl and refresh the listing status based on current data.

In most cases, once Bing processes your report and re‑indexes the corrected source data, the “off‑market” label will update automatically. Your realtor can also assist by verifying that no data syndication issues are contributing to the mismatch.

Hope this helps! Feel free to update here if anything comes up!
