Hi LoveChris-0704,

Welcome to the Microsoft Q&A forum.

Based on what you’re seeing, the behavior isn’t related to the PDF format or the file size itself. The messages indicate that your Copilot session has reached its current daily usage threshold. When that limit is reached, actions such as file uploads and file analysis may be temporarily unavailable, which can also result in time‑out or “Something went wrong” messages like the one shown.

At this point, here are some options that you can consider:

  • Upload fewer files per day and reuse them in the same conversation when possible.
  • Store files in OneDrive or SharePoint and reference them instead of uploading repeatedly.

To reduce this occurrence in the future:

  • Keep file uploads within a single conversation rather than starting multiple new ones.
  • Avoid retrying uploads rapidly once the limit message appears.

Let me know if you need further assistance, feel free to ask me by clicking "Add Comment" or "Add Answer" if you cannot add comment so your response will be visible. Thanks for your effort.

This bug was finally fixed. Admittedly, that did take a long time coming. There was nothing Users could do other than wait. And the messages were false positives. And it did not happen in all Copilot acc't Profiles.

Anyway, the issue has been fixed

Not sure why the other answer was accepted.

Hendrix and Drew: thanks to you both.....

Some food for thought: If there is a free community of functionally specific LLM that copilot can access I would very much be interested. Any knowledge, etc.?

I am designing an electrical system for a new cottage and have purchased the Canada electrical code document and loaded it into my Google Drive and then referenced it. I suppose Copilot can access it - not sure? The "connector" is active. I think it says it is...but I am never sure. Sometimes it says it cannot read it and other times it say it is using all documents in my drive space, but I never know if it really is using them and is actually able to read and then apply the contents to answer my questions. Anyway i can tell?

The last point I wanted to make is to see if Copilot can collaborate wit Google AI - two minds are better than one! Often i find myself pasting answers from one system into the other, which improves the quality of the answer - i am acting as the middleman. It would be better to simply say, Ask Google AI the same question, " What are the code rules around using AFCI and GFCI protection circuits in typical rooms in a house for 2026?" and have it respond, "I checked my answer against your Google Drive and Google AI , and they are aligned. Here is the consolidated answer: .....blah, blah, bah"
