Bring back 'schedule view' in the new outlook

Are there plans to bring back the "schedule view" in the new outlook calendar view settings? I have been using the new outlook for a few weeks now and it just isn't as user friendly using the split view to manage multiple calendar schedules. The classic outlook feature "schedule view" was much more user friendly and easy on the eyes for viewing several calendars at the same time. It was stacked horizontally instead of side by side. It is a lot glitchier with the vertical format.

Instead of creating a new Feature Request, there is already a Request for this that you can vote for and comment on.

    Hi @GOODIN JOSEPH

Welcome to the Microsoft Q&A forum, and thank you for bringing to our attention that the new Outlook calendar does not include the classic horizontal Schedule View. I also appreciate the effort you put into testing the split view across multiple calendars and sharing your observations.

Currently, in the new Outlook experience, the legacy horizontal Schedule View is not available. Instead, multi-calendar layouts are provided through Overlay view (stacked calendars) or Split view (side-by-side columns). However, Microsoft supports running the new and classic Outlook side by side, so you can continue using Schedule View in classic Outlook while the new version evolves.

To help you manage calendars effectively, here are a few practical options:

1/ Use Split View for clearer multi-calendar management

    • In Calendar, select Split View on the ribbon to separate calendars into columns. You can scroll horizontally to view additional calendars.

2/ Run classic and new Outlook side by side

    • From the new Outlook, toggle back to classic, then pin both Outlook (classic) and Outlook (new) to your taskbar.
    • This allows you to open either app as needed and retain Schedule View in classic.

3/ Use Scheduling Assistant for availability comparisons

    • When creating a meeting, select Scheduling Assistant to view attendee availability in a timeline format without relying on Schedule View.

    4/ Streamline your calendar view

    • Uncheck calendars you do not need or use distinct colors to reduce visual overlap in Overlay or Split views.

Additionally. I strongly recommend submitting your suggestion through the Outlook (new) · Community, where the Microsoft product team actively reviews user input. Many improvements have been made based on community suggestions, and your idea could help prioritize this feature for future updates.

You have clearly identified a real-world challenge, and your suggestion reflects a deep understanding of user needs. Feedback like yours plays an important role in shaping the future of Microsoft products. Once you submit your feedback, please feel free to share the link here. I would be happy to upvote it to help increase its visibility.
