Hi @Gilkey Nabil
Thank you for posting your question in the Microsoft Q&A forum.
Even if users are properly licensed and have the right permissions, Office apps may still open files in read‑only mode. This issue is often linked to a corrupted Web Account Manager (WAM) cache, which is not reset by reinstalling Office.
Here are some steps you can try to resolve it:
1.Sign out of all Office apps
-Open Word > File > Account
-Sign out of all accounts.
-Close all Office apps.
2.Disconnect the Work Account from Windows
-Go to Settings > Accounts > Access work or school.
-Select your Microsoft 365 account and click Disconnect.
-Restart your computer.
3.Clear WAM token cache
Remove any cached credentials that might be causing incorrect sign-ins:
-Open the Control Panel > Credential Manager.
-Under Windows Credentials, remove entries related to:
- MicrosoftOffice
- ADAL
- MSOID
- OneDrive
- Teams
If the problem persists, you may need to delete the BrokerPlugin data:
-Open File Explorer and navigate to:
- %LOCALAPPDATA%\Packages\Microsoft.AAD.BrokerPlugin_cw5n1h2txyewy
- %LOCALAPPDATA%\Packages\Microsoft.Identity.BrokerPlugin_8wekyb3d8bbwe
-Delete or rename these folders.
-Restart your computer.
4.Reconnect account
-Settings > Accounts > Access work or school > Click Connect > Sign in with Microsoft 365 account.
-Open Word > Sign in.
I hope this helps.
