Since recent IOS update why do the drop downs not open or work in excel?

Prior to doing the latest IOS update all my drop downs within an excel sheet worked perfectly and since the update they no no longer work, arrow appears but they won’t open to be able to make a selection. I have verified with my coworker who has not updated yet and his drop downs still work perfectly. I’ve googled this issue and it seems known and linked to the latest IOS update. I’ve tried all suggested work around’s with no success. Do we know if Microsoft is going to correct this? It’s quite major. Thank you.

    Dear @Jamie Soanes,
Thank you for posting your question in the Microsoft Q&A forum.

I understand that your Excel drop‑down lists stopped working right after installing the latest iOS update. The arrows still show, but the lists won’t open. You also shared that your coworker on the older iOS version has no issue, and none of the suggested workarounds helped

I also found that many other users are reporting the same behavior after the recent iOS update. However, at this time, there is no official confirmation or workaround from Microsoft.

Could you please confirm what type of account you are using to sign into Excel (work, school, or personal Microsoft account)?

If you are using business account (work/school account), I recommend you ask you admin report this issue via the Admin Center so Microsoft can acknowledge it and provide an update as soon as possible. From Microsoft 365 Admin Center, navigate to Health > Service health or select the Service health card on the dashboard. > Click Report an issue and complete the form.

For details: How to check Microsoft 365 service health - Microsoft 365 Enterprise | Microsoft Learn

If you are using personal account (@outllok.com, @live or @hotmail), I kindly recommend reporting the issue directly through the Excel app:

    • Open Excel on your iPhone/iPad
    • Go to your profile photo (top‑left) > "Help & Feedback” > "Tell us what can be better > Describe the issue > Send

Please understand that our initial response does not always resolve the issue immediately. However, with your help and more detailed information, we can work together to find a solution.

I truly appreciate your patience and understanding. If you have any further questions or need further clarification, please feel free to reach out. I'm looking forward to hearing from you.

    Thank you for your cooperation.

I can now confirm that there is a new update to the Microsoft Excel app for iPhone OS and iPad OS (Version 2.105.3) and this has now resolved the unresponsive drop down buttons for me.  ✅

The work around is starting to entering a known value, the box works with alphabetically similar values at least

Microsoft strikes again. How bad has it gotten since all the cloud based crap. Mine still wont work and it cost me big time today as I use this in customer homes on my ipad. Geezzz I wish my company would scrap microsoft all togather and go back to Googale workspace. NEVER had any issue but Microsoft is a constant headache. I spend 10% of my time trying to get a MS product to simple work or login.
