Keep getting locked out of my accounts and would like to escalate this matter, since it happens all the time and now even my Linkedin account. I was looking to find their contact details and was mortified to discover they're owned by the Microsoft that likes locking out of my accounts to steal data.

    Hi Senay

Welcome to the Microsoft Q&A forum.

I understand how frustrating this is - especially when you can still sign in at times, but automated security protections keep triggering repeated lockouts across multiple accounts, including LinkedIn.

The Q&A Assist answer above is a reasonable starting point, particularly for account recovery and basic security checks. Please try those steps first if you haven’t already. If the issue persists, it helps to clarify how these lockouts work and what can be addressed here.

From the Microsoft Q&A forum, contributors and moderators don’t have access to Microsoft’s internal security systems and can’t manually unlock accounts, remove security blocks, or escalate automated lockouts. These are applied automatically by Microsoft’s security services in response to repeated or suspicious sign‑in activity.

If you continue to see lockouts after following the Q&A Assist steps, the actions below can help reduce common triggers for this loop:

1, Secure the account from a clean, trusted device

Sign in from a different, known‑safe device and change your password to a strong, unique one. After changing it, sign out everywhere.

    2, Review recent sign‑in activity

Go to your Microsoft account at https://account.microsoft.com > Security > Recent activity and look for unfamiliar locations, devices, or repeated failed sign‑ins, which often explain why lockouts keep occurring.

    3, Remove saved credentials everywhere

Clear saved Microsoft account passwords from all browsers, apps, and devices. Old cached credentials trying to sign in automatically are a very common cause of repeated lockouts after a password change.

4, Check background sign‑ins from apps and devices

Temporarily sign out of Microsoft‑connected apps (Outlook, mobile mail apps, Xbox, third‑party services), then sign back in only after confirming your new password is working correctly.

5, Scan all devices for malware

Since repeated automated sign‑ins can be caused by malware, run a full security scan on any device that has previously accessed the account.

If the lockouts continue even after securing the account and removing all background sign‑in attempts, I can add more information about contacting Microsoft Support and what details are most helpful to provide.

Feel free to update the thread with what you’ve tried and what you’re seeing next, and I’ll be glad to help further.

If you're frequently getting locked out of your accounts, including LinkedIn, it may be helpful to take a few steps to address the issue. Here are some suggestions:

    1. Verify Your Credentials: Ensure that you are using the correct login credentials for each account. Sometimes, confusion between personal and business accounts can lead to login issues.
    2. Account Recovery Options: For accounts that are locked, utilize the account recovery options provided by the service. For LinkedIn, you can follow their recovery process to regain access.
    3. Contact Support: If the issue persists, contacting customer support for the specific service (like LinkedIn or Microsoft) can help. They may have additional tools to assist you in regaining access to your account.
    4. Prevent Future Lockouts: Consider setting up alternative recovery methods, such as a backup email or phone number, to help prevent future lockouts. For Microsoft accounts, you can create an emergency access account to avoid being locked out completely.
    5. Security Practices: Regularly review your account security settings and update your passwords to enhance security and reduce the chances of being locked out.

If you need to escalate the matter, ensure you have all relevant information ready when contacting support, such as your account details and any error messages you receive.
