Hello to all users who have the same issue,

    Thanks for confirming.

Based on what you’re describing, and similar reports from other Windows 11 Home users, this behavior does appear to be related to how the system is currently handling fullscreen mode after a recent update. Multiple users are seeing the taskbar appear when moving the cursor to the bottom of the screen even in true fullscreen, and standard settings changes don’t resolve it.

At this point, there aren’t any additional local settings or safe configuration changes that reliably stop it.

    Hi Dallas,

Welcome to the Microsoft Q&A forum.

I understand how frustrating this can be, especially when something changes unexpectedly and starts interrupting fullscreen work or gaming.

Here's the clarification of Q&A Assist's answer, when this behavior occurs, you can try these quick checking steps:

    1 - Restart Windows Explorer

    • Press Ctrl + Shift + Esc
    • Find Windows Explorer
    • Select Restart

    2 - Reset the taskbar auto‑hide setting

    • Right‑click the taskbar > Taskbar settings
    • Expand Taskbar behaviors
    • Turn Automatically hide the taskbar off
    • Wait a few seconds, then turn it back on

Additionally, please confirm the app is in true fullscreen. Some apps use “borderless” mode, which can still trigger the taskbar.

    • Browsers or videos: press F11
    • Games: select Exclusive / True Fullscreen in the game’s settings

Let me know if you need further assistance, feel free to ask me by clicking "Add Comment" or "Add Answer" if you cannot add comment so your response will be visible. Thanks for your effort.

To prevent the taskbar from popping up while you are in fullscreen mode, you can try the following steps:

    1. Auto-hide the Taskbar: Right-click on the taskbar and select Taskbar settings. From there, enable the Automatically hide the taskbar in desktop mode option. This will keep the taskbar hidden until you move your cursor to the bottom of the screen.
    2. Check for Updates: Sometimes, issues arise after updates. Make sure to check for any additional updates that might fix bugs related to the taskbar.
    3. Restart Windows Explorer: Press Ctrl + Shift + Esc to open Task Manager. Locate Windows Explorer, right-click it, and select Restart. This can resolve temporary glitches.
    4. Adjust Display Settings: Go to Settings > System > Display and ensure that your display settings are configured correctly, especially if you are using multiple monitors.
    5. Use Fullscreen Mode: Ensure that the applications you are using are in true fullscreen mode (not windowed fullscreen), as some applications might still trigger the taskbar in windowed mode.

If these steps do not resolve the issue, consider providing feedback to Microsoft through the Feedback Hub (WIN + F) to report the problem.
