Once cookies are deleted, they cannot be recovered directly as they are stored temporarily by your browser. However, if you are using a browser that supports syncing, such as Microsoft Edge, you may be able to restore some of your cookies if they were synced with your Microsoft account. Here are a few steps you can take:

    1. Check Sync Settings: Ensure that your browser is set to sync cookies and other browsing data. Go to the settings in Microsoft Edge and check if syncing is enabled.
    2. Restore from Backup: If you have a backup of your browser profile or system, you may be able to restore the cookies from there.
    3. Revisit Websites: After deleting cookies, revisiting websites may recreate cookies as they are set again by the server when you log in or interact with the site.

Unfortunately, if none of these options are available, the deleted cookies cannot be retrieved directly.

    Hi @Mahargha Sengupta

Thank you for posting your question in the Microsoft Q&A forum

Regarding your issue, I understand how frustrating this can be, especially when everything was working fine before and the data was removed by accident. Losing sign‑ins and site settings can definitely be disruptive.

Cookies and cached internet files in Microsoft Edge are stored as temporary browser data. Once they are cleared, Edge doesn’t keep a backup or a recycle bin for this type of data, so there isn’t a supported way to restore them to their previous state. This applies even when the deletion was unintentional.

What you may still notice is that other synced data, such as favorites or saved passwords, can come back if you’re signed in to Edge with a Microsoft account and sync was enabled. However, cookies themselves are not fully restored through sync.  For affected websites, the only way forward is usually to revisit the sites and sign in again, which allows new cookies to be created.

For the future, you may want to keep Edge sync enabled, avoid clearing cookies for “All time” unless necessary, and consider exporting important data like passwords or favorites before clearing browsing data. This can help reduce the impact if this happens again.

Hopefully this clarifies why the data can’t be restored and what options are available going forward.
