Hello Sunny D,
Thank you for posting your question in the Microsoft Q&A forum!
I realize that you've encountered a problem with Word. I truly understand your confusion. Let me assist you further.
I suggest you try this:
- Update Word to a newer build
- Open Word
- Select File > Account
- Select Update Options > Update Now
- Let Office fully update, then restart Windows
Once Word is on Version 2509 or newer, the blank‑document behavior should stop entirely. If the issue remains, please try steps below.
- Start Word in safe mode
This confirms the issue is not caused by add‑ins.
- Press Win + R
- Type:
winword /a
- Press Enter
- Repair Office (safe, non‑destructive)
This does not remove documents.
- Open Control Panel
- Select Programs > Programs and Features
- Select Microsoft 365
- Select Change > Quick Repair
- Disable startup add‑ins (only if you use any)
Word automatically loads startup templates and add‑ins, which can amplify the incident.
I hope this will help with your situation. Please feel free to reach back if you have further update or more questions.
Best Regards,
