A Microsoft file hosting and synchronization service.
Hi, trevor smith
Welcome to Microsoft Q&A forum.
On iPadOS, OneDrive shows up in the Files app through Apple’s “Locations” list, and that switch can get turned off or the file-provider link can get stuck after an app or iPadOS update.
Here are some suggestions you can try:
Turn OneDrive back on in Files (most common fix).
Open Files > Browse > tap the More (...) button > Edit, then toggle OneDrive on and tap Done. This works because it re-enables OneDrive as a Files “Location,” even when the OneDrive app itself looks fine.
Refresh the connection by toggling it off and on.
In that same Browse > ... > Edit screen, switch OneDrive off, fully close the Files app, restart the iPad, then switch OneDrive on again. This forces iPadOS to rebuild the link between Files and OneDrive.
Use “Offload App” if you are worried about data loss.
Go to iPad Settings > General > iPad Storage > OneDrive > Offload App. Apple removes the app but keeps its documents and data, so it’s a safer “reinstall-style” reset for the integration.
If you do delete and reinstall, your cloud files stay safe, but offline copies do not.
Reinstalling OneDrive is a standard fix for iOS app issues, because it clears corrupted caches and resets the provider. Your OneDrive files live in the cloud, but any “Available offline” items stored only on the iPad may be removed.
If this still fails, report it from OneDrive Help & Feedback so it reaches the app team.
Hope this helps. Feel free to get back if you need further assistance.
