I'm trying to play valorant but it needs uefi to work. So I went into bios so do that but every time I would activate safe boot and it would just say invalid signature detected, check secure boot policy in setup.

    Hi,

In this case, you'll have to do the following: reset the BIOS, then disable CSM and set the boot mode to UEFI.

Before doing this, your Windows must be in GPT/UEFI mode. If you do this before your Windows is in this mode, it won't work.

To do this, access msinfo32.exe in the search bar, take a screenshot, and post it here.

    Thanks

The error means Secure Boot is enabled but the firmware cannot validate the bootloader signature with the keys currently stored in UEFI. Secure Boot must be correctly configured for Windows 11 and games like Valorant that rely on it.

Try these steps that match known working resolutions:

    1. Ensure Secure Boot keys are installed
      • Enter the PC’s UEFI/BIOS setup.
      • Go to the Secure Boot or Security section.
      • Look for an option like “Install default Secure Boot keys”, “Restore factory keys”, or a keyset option such as “Microsoft only” or “Windows UEFI mode”.
      • Apply/Save this so the UEFI signature database (db) contains the correct Microsoft keys needed to boot Windows.
      • Save changes and reboot with Secure Boot enabled.
      • This resolves cases where Secure Boot state is off or errors occur because keys were missing.
    2. If the error persists, repair Secure Boot using SecureBootRecovery.efi This method has been confirmed to fix the exact “Secure Boot Violation – Invalid signature detected” error:
      1. In Windows, go to C:\Windows\Boot\EFI and locate SecureBootRecovery.efi.
      2. Prepare a USB stick formatted as FAT32.
      3. On the USB, create folder EFI, and inside it create folder BOOT (both names must be uppercase).
      4. Copy SecureBootRecovery.efi into EFI\BOOT on the USB and rename it to bootx64.efi.
      5. Boot the PC from this USB drive.
      6. Wait for the message similar to “Microsoft Secure Boot Recovery Version 1.0 ... System will reboot in 10 seconds”.
      7. Let the system reboot back into Windows.
      8. Restart again, enter BIOS/UEFI, and enable Secure Boot.

After these steps, Secure Boot should be enabled without the “invalid signature” error, and games that require UEFI Secure Boot (such as Valorant) can run.

Note: Do not disable Secure Boot permanently as it is a core protection for the Windows boot process.
