Hello,

I have a problem on permanent setting and having default sort order for Work One Drive Web based.

Can you plesae consider adding it to Work One Drives web bsed too, since is already incorporated on Personal One Drive? Also, the issue remains to not default column widths.

I am using Chrome browser, if anyone has any other solution since is an important for our work.

Thank you in advance.

In OneDrive for work or school on the web, permanent customization of sort order and column widths is not supported.

    For work/school accounts:

    • Sort changes are temporary. The view can be sorted (for example, by Name, Modified, or Sharing) using the column headers or the Sort menu, but these settings are not saved after sign-out.
    • The option to drag items into a custom order and save that order (Sort > Rearrange) is only available for personal OneDrive accounts, not for work or school.
    • Column widths can be adjusted in List view by dragging the column header edges, but there is no supported way to persist those widths as a default across sessions.
    • More extensive page or library customizations (such as modifying columns, content types, or other library settings) are not supported in OneDrive for Business; this is by design. If deeper customization is required, a SharePoint team site should be used instead.

There is no browser-side workaround documented that will make sort order or column widths persist by default for OneDrive for work or school. For feature requests (such as adding persistent sort and column settings to work accounts), feedback can be submitted through the standard Microsoft feedback channels for OneDrive.

    Hi @Andreas Ktoris,

According to your concern, I have tried testing in my corporate OneDrive to reproduce the behavior you described. Based on the outcome it's highly confirmed that the permanent settings for column widths is not full supported but the default sort order can be maintained:

    • About the sort order, I tried in My Files folder > Sort by Name and Ascending. As a result, OneDrive web will maintain that sort order until I change it to a different one. So, the sort order can be maintained but you need to manually sort first time in the folder and there is no settings option to configure beforehand.
    • About the column widths, there is no setting option to set a default width, and I have to manually drag right/left to widen/narrow the width or clicking the column > Column settings > Widen/Narrow column. However, the configuration doesn't maintain and will be lost on refresh.

While these options are not available today, I'm optimistic about future enhancements. Since these options can significantly improve your workflow, I strongly recommend sharing your feedback directly with the Microsoft engineering team via Microsoft 365 Feedback Hub → Send Feedback and describe your suggestion in detail.
