Trying to install Crimson Desert on PC after purchasing it via XBOX. Getting code 0X87E0000D. Is the game just not available to pre-download yet?

It's happening to a lot of people so I wouldn't worry about it we can't play it for 48 hours anyways so I'm sure it will be fixed by then

There are alot of people complaining on the preload megathread on Reddit as well. So we are not alone.

It is 19:40 in London time on March 18th, 2026. I have purchased Crimson Desert and it has already pre‑installed on my Xbox Series X without any issues. But when I try to install it on my PC, I get the error 0X87E0000D. Please provide a solution for all of us who are experiencing this problem, or at least explain what is happening. Thank you.

4:30 pm MST on March 18th and I am still hit with the same error code. It seems that there is no PC pre load functionality for this title. Or at the very least it is not the prerogative of the Xbox/Microsoft engineering team to find a fix for this issue. I and many other users has submitted reports regarding this problem and judging by the discussion here as well as on the game's main subreddit, this is a persistent issue among many PC users. At this point I think we'll all be better off just waiting for the day one patch to hit and then doing an install. Assuming of course, Microsoft doesn't botch the release as well.

I would suggest a refund.

I got refunded almost immediately and now i have it installed on Steam.

Quite a pity for Xbox to totally drop the ball like this since the idea with Xbox Play Anywhere really is nice but man. This was one hell of a disaster by them and i can see why they struggle so much.

The latest update broke the game completly for me and it won't even launch with the ethernet cable pull trick.
Re-downloading again after the +110GB patch.

How can this be legal?

Are we certain about this? According to the Microsoft Store, it can be preinstalled. There is actually a "Pre-install" button and no clean error code explaining why we can't pre-install.

This feel more like regular MS Store Issues. I was ready to buy on Steam, but read so much about how the MS Store experience has improved. It hasn't.

This can't be true. The game is ready for pre-download now, my friends are downloading as we speak on Steam yet i cant download it yet on the Xbox PC app?

I'm having the same issue, I cannot install the pc version. receive the same error code. I was able to install on my xbox without any troubles. Why can't I install it on PC? It says it is available to preload. What gives?
