I’d be happy to clarify how Microsoft Project licensing works for students.
Microsoft Project is typically not included at no cost with standard Microsoft 365 Education plans such as A1, A3, or A5. While these plans provide access to apps like Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Microsoft Teams, Microsoft Project is offered as a separate product.
To check your eligibility, please contact your school’s IT department and ask whether Microsoft Project is available through Azure Dev Tools for Teaching (formerly Azure for Students) or your institution’s software distribution portal.
If your school doesn't, generally, from official site Compare All Planner Options and Prices| Microsoft Planner, users can select the Project plans to get free trial or subscribe.
To start the free trial of Project Plan 3 that includes the desktop app, you can directly click on the Free trial button of this page.
Note: All Microsoft subscription free trial is only available for one month for each account.
