Images from Teams AI Summary / Intelligent Recap no longer copy into Loop Notes

Until recently, when I copied the AI‑generated meeting summary from Microsoft Teams (the Recap / AI Notes pane), the embedded images (diagrams, slide thumbnails, visual highlights) were correctly pasted into a Loop Notes page. Now, when performing the same action, the text is copied but the images are missing.

This is a regression — it used to work for the exact same meetings and same workflow.

Repro steps:

  1. Open a Teams meeting recap with AI Summary enabled.
  2. Select the entire AI‑generated notes (including images).
  3. Paste into the Loop “Notes” tab inside a Workspace or meeting page.
  4. Only text appears; images are silently dropped.

Expected result: All images included in the Teams AI Summary should be pasted into the Loop Notes page, as before.

Actual result: Images are not transferred. Only text is pasted.

Environment:

  • Teams with Copilot for Microsoft 365
  • Recap (AI Notes / Intelligent Recap)
  • Loop Notes tab inside Loop Workspace

    Hi @Daniel Guariglia

Thank you for sharing the detailed information.

Based on your description, this does not appear to be related to a missing permission or tenant setting. Since the behavior previously worked and is now consistently dropping only the images while the text still pastes, this looks more like a service-side behavior change or regression between Teams Recap/ AI Summary and Loop Notes.

Microsoft documents AI Summary/ AI Notes as part of the Recap in Microsoft Teams experience here: Recap in Microsoft Teams - Microsoft Support

At this point, the best next step would be to open a Microsoft 365 support ticket so the support team can investigate this further from the backend.

When raising the case, I recommend including:

    • exact repro steps
    • when the issue started
    • screenshots or screen recording
    • whether it affects all meetings or only some recaps

For this issue, a support case would be the most appropriate path. You can follow the steps in this document: Get support - Microsoft 365 admin | Microsoft Learn

     Hope this information will help.

AI generated content. This question contains an answer created with AI from Q&A Assist. Learn more

This behavior is not documented in the provided material as a known feature change or issue, so only general, supported guidance can be given.

    Based on the context:

    • Teams intelligent recap and Copilot generate AI notes, tasks, and mentions for meetings, including instant/ad‑hoc meetings.
    • Loop and Copilot support recapping and summarizing content inside Loop pages, but image handling and cross‑app copy/paste behavior between Teams recap and Loop notes is not described.
    • Clipboard and format‑support limitations are known in other Microsoft 365 areas (for example, Office clipboard vs Windows clipboard), where some formats or embedded content types are not preserved when copying.

Given that this used to work and now fails consistently across devices and browsers, the most likely supported conclusions are:

    1. The current product behavior for copying from the Teams recap surface into Loop notes no longer preserves embedded images, similar to other clipboard/format limitations documented elsewhere in Microsoft 365.
    2. There is no documented setting in the provided context to re‑enable or configure image copy/paste from Teams intelligent recap into Loop.

Actionable steps within the documented capabilities:

    1. Use Teams recap and Copilot directly for meeting review
      • Open the meeting chat and select the Recap tab.
      • Select CopilotView promptsRecap the meeting to work with the AI summary in Teams instead of relying on a full‑fidelity copy into Loop.
    2. Use Loop’s own Copilot recap on the Loop page
      • In the Loop page where meeting notes are kept, use the Recap feature in Loop:
        • On the Loop page, open the More options menu (three dots) near Share, or use More page options from the left navigation.
        • Select Recap.
        • In the Recap window, choose Create new recap so Copilot summarizes the content that is already in the Loop page.
      • This does not restore image copy/paste from Teams, but it provides an AI‑generated summary within Loop using supported functionality.
    3. Workaround for critical images
      • Since the context shows that some Microsoft 365 experiences have format limitations in the clipboard, treat embedded recap images as content that may need to be handled separately:
        • Save or export key images from their original source (for example, from the meeting recording, shared slides, or files in Teams/OneDrive) and then insert or paste them directly into the Loop page.
    4. Escalation
      • Because this is a regression and not covered as an intentional change in the provided documentation, the next step is to open a support ticket with Microsoft 365/Teams support through the tenant admin. Include:
        • Exact repro steps and dates when it last worked.
        • Example meetings and tenants affected.
        • Confirmation that it reproduces across clients and browsers.
      • This allows the product group to confirm whether a recent change to Teams intelligent recap, Loop, or clipboard handling caused the regression and whether a fix or change notice is planned.

Until there is explicit product documentation or a fix, the supported path is to rely on: (1) Teams recap/Copilot directly in Teams, (2) Loop’s own Copilot recap inside Loop, and (3) manual handling of critical images.
