After update in Windows 11, I cannot use Bluetooth. Error code 10. Troubleshooter can find it and tried to fix "unresolved error" but seems to have stalled out.

    Hi Carol Hammerbeck,
Welcome to Microsoft Q&A forum. I'm happy to help.

Please try some suggestions bellow to see if the problem can be fixed:

    • If you're using a laptop, please turn off your computer then press and hold the power button for at least 10 seconds. Your laptop will reinitiate devices and may recognize the Bluetooth device again.
    • Navigate to your laptop or motherboard support page to download and install latest Bluetooth drivers.
    • Uninstall the recent updates following this article: How to uninstall a Windows Update.

If any of the above suggestions can help, you don't need to do the rest.

If you have any updated information, please feel free to let me know.

Hi. I'm David, and I'm happy to help you.

A Code 10 error in Device Manager usually occurs when the operating system cannot properly communicate with the hardware, most often due to a faulty, outdated, or incompatible driver.

To help troubleshoot further, I'll need some details about your system.

Please share a screenshot of your system information.

    • Press "Windows + R", type msinfo32 and press Enter.

Maximize the window and use the shortcut "Windows + Shift + S" to use the screenshot tool.

    I await your reply.

Follow these steps in order on Windows 11 to fix Bluetooth missing/not working after an update and error code 10:

    1. Run the Bluetooth troubleshooter again
      • Open the Get Help app via this link and run the automated Bluetooth troubleshooter:
Run the troubleshooter in Get Help
      • Let it complete all diagnostics and fixes, then restart the PC and test Bluetooth.
    2. Make sure Airplane mode is off
      • Press Windows + A to open Quick Settings.
      • Ensure Airplane mode is turned Off.
    3. Update the Bluetooth driver in Device Manager
      • Select Start, type Device Manager, and open it.
      • Expand Bluetooth.
      • Right‑click the Bluetooth adapter (may include the word “radio”) and select Update driver.
      • Choose Search automatically for drivers / Search automatically for updated driver software.
      • Complete the wizard, then restart the PC and check if Bluetooth works.
    4. Install Bluetooth drivers via Windows Update
      • Select Start > Settings > Windows Update.
      • Select Check for updates.
      • Install all available updates, including optional driver updates if shown, then restart and test Bluetooth.
    5. Reinstall the Bluetooth driver (helps with Code 10)
      • Open Device Manager.
      • Expand Bluetooth.
      • Right‑click the Bluetooth adapter and select Uninstall device.
      • Confirm, then restart the PC. Windows will automatically reinstall the Bluetooth driver.
      • After restart, verify if the Bluetooth toggle/icon and functionality are restored.
    6. Roll back the Bluetooth driver if the issue started after the update
      • Open Device Manager.
      • Expand Bluetooth, right‑click the Bluetooth adapter, and select Properties.
      • Go to the Driver tab and select Roll Back Driver (if available).
      • Follow the on‑screen steps, restart the PC, and test Bluetooth again.

If Windows reports the best driver is already installed but Bluetooth still shows error 10, download the latest Bluetooth driver directly from the PC or motherboard manufacturer’s support site and install it manually (using the provided .exe installer or Update driver > Browse my computer for drivers in Device Manager).
